The Hungry Caterpillar

Today we read Rooster’s Off to See the World by Eric Carle. In this book, a rooster and his friends decide to go on an adventure but they forgot to pack food and some type of shelter so they went back home. For our sensory and science activity, we played with some playdough. We rolled the playdough out so that we were able to use our animal playdough cutters to make different animals. Then we used our math and cognition skills to recognized the different shapes that some of Eric Carle’s animals were in. We also recognized the colors and what animals there were inside of the shapes. During our literacy and fine motor activity, we practiced our tracing skills on our Eric Carle tracing page. Next week we will be learning about the ocean.
