Pumpkins are Gourds!
This morning, we read the book The Legend of Spookley the Square Pumpkin written by Joe Troiano. During our music and movement time, we danced, played with balls, walked up and over bridges, and bounced on the horses! Next, during our math and cognition lesson, we put numbers 1 through 10 in correct number order. Then, during our science and sensory lesson, we drew a picture of a Jack-O-Lanterns! We also took our goose-necked gourds outside and we opened them! The seeds looked different than other seeds we have seen before and while we thought it would be filled with guts like a pumpkin, there was barely any guts in the gourd. Finally, for our fine motor and literacy lesson, we listened to a book on tape.
