Polar Animals

This week we are learning all about different polar animals that live in the arctic We read Footprints in the Snow by Mei Matsuoka. In this book, we went on an adventure with a fox that was looking for his arctic friend that made the footprints in the snow. During our sensory and science activity, we made an igloo craft. We used silver tissue paper as the blocks of ice to build the igloo with. Then we used our literacy and fine motor skills to practice writing our names. We had a teacher help us hand over hand or helped us with spelling our names. For our math and cognition activity, we did a polar bear size sorting. We sorted the polar bear by small and big and we also talked about how a baby polar bear would sound compared to a big polar bear.
