“P” is for Pumpkin

This morning, we read the book Pumpkin Time written by Erzsi Deak and illustrated by Doug Cushman. During music and movement time, we used equipment that helps strengthen our cores. Then, during our math and cognition lesson, we worked on number formation using sand to write numbers in. Next, for our science and sensory lesson, we made a pumpkin volcano! We cut the top off a small pumpkin and filled it with baking soda and vinegar. It was fun to watch it flow out of the pumpkin. Then we took a larger pumpkin and we hammered golf tees into the pumpkin! Finally, during our literacy and fine motor lesson, we used cookie cutters to make a pumpkin stamping picture.
