Stars and Stripes

Happy Monday! Today we read the book I Am Fire by Jean Marzolla. It is about how fire is helpful and harmful. The book talked about staying way back when watching fireworks, not touching a hot grill, and getting an adult for help or if you have a question. During circle time we discussed how the Fourth of July is a celebration of America and the flag is just for our country. We went on a flag search to see who could find the most flags. During our match and cognition activity we matched different shapes with the pattern of our flag. During the sensory activity the children designed their own flags with red, white, and blue. We then stamped the letters of their name on stars for the flag for our literacy and fine motor activity.
