“F” is for Fireworks!
Today we read the book My Fourth of July written by Jerry Spinelli and illustrated by Lary Day. This morning, during music and movement time, we sang the songs Where is Thumbkin and Old McDonald had a farm. During our math and cognition lesson, we matched shapes and colors together. Do you remember those star ice cubes we made on Monday? Well today for our sensory and science lesson, we popped them out of the molds and we made them fizz! We used an eye-dropper to drop vinegar onto the stars which caused a chemical reaction between the baking soda we put in the star ice cubes and the vinegar. Finally, during our fine motor and literacy lesson, we made fireworks by putting some paint on the paper and using our breath by blowing the paint to make fireworks.
