What Pets are at Your Home?

Today during circle time, we read Take Your Pet to School Day and enjoyed a discussion about how surprising—and silly—it would be if everyone brought their pets to school. We shared about our own pets, including dogs, cats, and even chickens. We also talked about our special classroom “pet rock” here at CLC.

Later in the day, Ms. Andrea invited the children to choose their very own pet rocks from a collection she gathered from her garden. The children carefully washed their rocks with soap and water, rinsed them thoroughly, and took their time drying them before painting. They were very engaged and creative throughout the process, and we are excited to reveal their finished pet rocks once they are completely dry.

To end the day, Ms. Adrienne led a fun and active pet-themed yoga session. The children enjoyed stretching and moving as they pretended to be crocodiles, gorillas, and ostriches—some very imaginative pets!

We hope you enjoy talking with your child this evening about pets and today’s activities.

Please note that CLC will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, January 15th, due to unforeseen circumstances. Unfortunately, a stomach bug has affected a significant number of our staff, and we are unable to safely and effectively care for students at this time. We are hopeful that staff will recover quickly and that we can reopen on Friday, January 16th. We will keep you informed via phone call with any updates.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we prioritize the health and safety of our students and staff.
