“R” is for Rose!

This morning, we read the book The Carrot Seed written by Ruth Krauss and illustrated by Crokett Johnson. During our music and movement time, we played with blocks of all different sizes and shapes! We built some amazing towers, castles and tunnels. Then, during our math and cognition lesson, we matched pictures of rain boots together. Next, for our science and sensory lesson, we watched a flower’s petals fill with color! We did this by cutting a lot of circles from paper towels, we drew one line with a washable marker. Then we made a “charcuterie” board flower, put it in a bowl and poured water over it and watched as the color filled the petals.  Finally, for our literacy and fine motor lesson, we made beautiful rose pictures. We did this by filling a sandwich bag with about a cup of water, then we tilted the bag so that all the water was in the corner of the bag and dipped it in paint, then squashed it on our paper!
