Penguins

Today we read Penguins by Jill Esbaum. In this book, we learned about how penguins waddle through the freezing cold arctic to go get their food. During our sensory and science activity, we did an arctic ice science experiment. We made the little bit of milk that we put in the bottom of a bowl then we colored it blue with some food coloring before putting a little drop of soap to watch the magic happen. Then we used our literacy and fine motor skills to make our letter ‘O’ creation. We made our letter ‘O’ into an ornament. For our math and cognition activity, we did a penguin matching game. We matched the penguin to the correct igloo for it to stay warm away from the cold winds.
