Left vs Right

Today we read Little Elephant by Miela Ford and illustrated by Tana Hoban. In this book, we followed a little elephant’s journey of swimming. For our sensory and science activity, we looked into our sensory bin full of things that are opposite. We talked about the little stars we saw and how dark blue is the opposite of light blue. Then we used our math and cognition skills to recognize different shapes. Our teachers gave us four different shaped buckets and we had to recognize the different shapes being pulled out of the buckets. We focused on triangle, square, rectangle, and circle shaped objects. During our literacy and fine motor activity, we did an opposite tracing page. The opposites that we talked about were big/little, good/bad, and happy/sad.
