“L” is for Leprechaun!

Today we read the book It’s Not Easy Being a Leprechaun by Marilyn Sadler and illustrated by Steph Laberis. During our math and cognition activity, we practiced matching upper-case letters to lower-case letters. For our sensory and science lesson, we talked about how a real rainbow is made from sunlight shining through raindrops, so today we made a rainstorm in a pitcher of water. We pretended that shaving cream was a cloud and dropped food coloring over the “cloud” so that everyone could see the rain fall through the “cloud” and into the pitcher of water.  Finally, during our fine motor and cognition lesson, we made some very cute little Leprechauns for our letter creation!
