To the Moon

Happy Monday! Today we read the book On the Moon by Anna Milbourne and Benji Davies. The moon is far away but some people (astronauts) have been there by riding a large rocket ship. Astronauts have to wear a space suit because there is no air to breathe. You can jump far on the moon, can ride moon buggies, collect rocks to take home, and put a flag there. Some of the children said they would go to the moon, some said they would not, and one said the cow jumped over the moon. During our math and cognition activity we blasted a rocket off on a number line. It went as high as the number on the dice the child rolled. For our crafty literacy and fine motor activity, we made name rockets.
