A Bright Start to a Brand-New Year
This morning, we read the book There Was an Old Woman Who Swallowed Some Books written by Lucille Colandro and illustrated by Jared Lee. During our music and movement time, we played red light, green light and duck, duck, goose! Then, during our math and cognition lesson, we matched school supplies together. Next, for our science and sensory lesson, we did a science experiments to make a self-inflating balloon! We did this by pouring 1/3 cup of vinegar into an empty water bottle. Then, we put approximately 3 tablespoons of baking soda inside the balloon. Next, we twisted the balloon to keep the baking soda inside the balloon. Finally, we stretched the mouth of the balloon over the water bottle, and we watched as the gas made from the vinegar and baking soda filled the balloon! Finally, for our literacy and fine motor lesson, we made School Houses!
