Birds of a Feather
Today we read the book The Acorn and the Oak Tree by Lori Foreb. In this book we learned how trees grow. After an acorn falls from the tree, it settles into the soil, becomes a sapling, then faces the hard changes of the seasons, and then grows to be the proud oak it was destined to be. During our math and cognition activity, we used colored popsicle sticks to make patterns. Then during our science and sensory activity, we used play dough to make leaves and trees. Finally during our fine motor and literacy activity, we practiced our cutting skills by cutting paper to make a feather.
