Owl

Today, we read the book Wise Up, Silly Owl by Steve Metzger. This book is about a young owl named Spotty who prefers being silly over being wise. His father, the wise old owl, leaves Spotty in charge of advising the forest animals while he attends to a repair at his sister’s house. Throughout the story, Spotty learns the importance of wisdom as he helps the animals with their problems, sometimes successfully and sometimes not. First, during our math and cognition activity, we sorted butterflies by size. Then, during our science and sensory activity, we put Dawn dish soap on a foam fish and watched it swim around. Finally, during our fine motor and literacy activity, we turned the letter T into a tiger.
