Today, we read the book Daniel’s First Fireworks by Becky Friedman. In this book, Daniel Tiger and his family were going to go see the fireworks on the Jungle Beach. Daniel was scared at first from how loud the fireworks were, until he held his little sister’s hand to make him feel safe and sound. First, during our math and cognition activity, we created a pattern with fun Fourth of July pictures. Then, during our science and sensory activity, we used play dough to make “food” for the Fourth of July. Finally, during our fine motor and literacy activity, we practiced our cutting skills.
