Flower Garden

Today we read the book Zinnia’s Flower Garden by Monica Wellington. This book was about a girl named Zinnia who loved flowers. She planted a flower garden of all her favorite flowers. The story went on to tell us everything she did to upkeep her garden in the summer time, and how in the winter she longed for summertime. During our math and cognitive activity we matched different shapes to certain flowers with cards. For our science and sensory time we created an experiment using white flowers, water, and food dye. We put the flowers in a small cup of water and food dye and will watch over the next day how the flower will start to change that color. Lastly, for our fine motor and literacy time we practiced cutting.
